Luyanda Gidini

Mzukisi is an accomplished finance executive with over 15 years of experience in government administration, financial management and corporate governance. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer at Johannesburg Metropolitan Bus Services (Metrobus), a role he has held since 2021.

He began his career as a Trainee Accountant at National Treasury and later joined the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality in 2014, where he has spent over a decade in senior leadership. From 2018 to 2020, he served as Acting CFO at the Metropolitan Trading Company. He played a key role in establishing the Academy of Chartered Accountants at the City of Johannesburg mentoring more than 10 trainees that went on to qualify as CAs. In 2019, he was named a finalist in SAICA’s Top 35 CAs under 35.

Mzukisi also contributes to the sector through various governance roles. He serves as President and non-executive director of ABASA NPC, and has held leadership roles with Equal Education, SAIGA, and SAICA. He joined the Board of Directors at the Social Justice Initiative in July 2025.

He holds a B.Com and Higher Diploma in Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 2014. He is a graduate of UCT’s Senior Leadership Development Programme and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from GIBS in 2024. He is currently pursuing an MBA, also at GIBS.
